Spring feels like it’s too far away and our Indiana weather is acting up as usual…but that’s no reason to stay indoors! In fact, there are several exciting things going on in the Indianapolis area this weekend and next week. Be sure to check them out!

Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament 2016

When: March 6 at 7:00 PM

Where: One Bankers Life Ct., 125 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46204

Details: The women’s tournament takes to the hard court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse for 10 games over 5 days. In addition to the competition, make sure to enjoy the Girls Basketball Clinic, Big Ten Thinks Pink, and Women’s Pep Rally.

500 Festival Miler Series

When: March 5 at 8:00 AM

Where: One NCAA Plaza, 700 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46206-6222

Details: The 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, are three running and walking events offered at three unique distances, a 3-Miler, 6-Miler, and 10-Miler. The series coincides with typical training programs geared toward a spring race. These events also provide an opportunity to get moving and accomplish your 2016 fitness goals.

2016 Photography Workshop Series

When: March 7 at 6:00 PM

Where: 40 E. St. Clair St., One Library Square, Indianapolis, IN 46206

Details: Those who are point-and-shoot photographers looking to improve their skills or are interested in creating better images with an iPhone are invited to learn camera and composition basics from expert photographers from the Riviera Camera Club. The theme for this program, to be held in the Riley Meeting Room, is “Macro Photography and Photographing Spring Wildflowers.”

IDADA First Friday

Where: Various Downtown galleries

When: March 4th

Details: More than 25 downtown galleries and art venues are participating in the IDADA First Friday Art Tours, which continue on a monthly basis the first Friday of each month. IDADA, which is as an active arts organization with the mission of promoting downtown Indianapolis artists and art galleries, presents the tour to promote visual art in a manner similar to walking tours in cities across the United States. They encourage patrons to walk or drive throughout the downtown cultural districts, and visit the city’s diverse visual art offerings.

Acoustic Bluegrass Open Jam

When: March 6th 07:00 PM

Where: 5565 N. Keystone Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220

Details: Hosted by members of both The Midwest Rhythm Exchange and Flatland Harmony Experiment, the Bluegrass jam is still in full effect! Feel free to bring your instrument of choice and whatever crazy musical ideas you may have; for it is not your traditional bluegrass jam.
