With housing prices rising, increasing interest rates and cost increases for building materials, housing affordability is lower than in recent times. This is putting pressure on the market, especially at higher price points. Explosive growth continues especially in the lower starter home and second home price points. Does this mean it is a bad time to buy? Not necessarily. Mortgage rates are expected to continue to rise so affordability next year could be worse.
