Things to in Indianapolis December 2015Thanksgiving’s passed, so now the biggest thing on our mind is obviously the next break. So while you’re outlining your shopping list, sighing wistfully, and dreaming about presents under the big tree, here are some Christmas-y things going on in December.

Celebration Crossing

Where: 650 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204

When: November 30 to January 3, 2016

Details: This year’s Celebration Crossing comes alive with holiday merriment from the sounds of bands, bell and vocal choirs and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will entertain visitors in their cozy home now on Level 1 of the museum through Dec. 24. Early risers may join Mrs. Claus, Snowflake Sam and Raggedy Ann for breakfast and late sleepers may join Santa for lunch or supper.

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol

Where: 140 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204

When: November 30 to December 26

Details: Indy’s favorite holiday tradition comes to life again for its 25th year on the OneAmerica Mainstage. A Christmas Carol celebrates the universal story of redemption as literature’s most infamous “Scrooge” learns to love after a walk through Christmas past, present and future.

SymFuny Sunday: IPL Yuletide Celebration

Where: 45 Monument Circle, Home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis, IN 46204

When: December 6 at 2:00 PM

Details: Indiana’s best holiday tradition for families returns! Ring in the holidays with host Sandi Patty and special guests as they bring to life the magic of tap dancing Santas, festive carols and larger-than-life puppetry alongside Jack Everly and the ISO.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Where: 1230 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis, IN 46202

When: December 5 at 8:30 AM

Details: Join them for the first annual ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Presidential Site. Kick off your season of celebration and bring the kids or grandkids for a delicious continental breakfast, create a special ornament to keep, and hear a special reading of the most famous Santa Claus story. Then head upstairs for a special seasonal tour of the Harrison’s home filled with members of the family, here for the holidays.

A Very Phoenix Xmas X – O Come, Let Us Adore Us

When: December 3 to December 20

Details: It’s year 10 of A Very Phoenix Xmas, and this year will be X-tra special! They’re back with another round of all new sketches, songs and dances, and in honor of this anniversary year. They’ve got everything on your list: traditional holiday music, madcap comedy skits, and some very talented people to help you celebrate this most joyful — and stressful — time of year.
