If you are on the fence wondering if now is a good time to buy a home, this graph might make your decision a little easier. I was really surprised when I received this graph from Dan Runge of Prime Lending showing mortgage rates over the last 30 years on 30 year rates.
My husband and I purchased our first home in 1983 when rates were 13.24%. On a $100,000 mortgage the principal and interest would have been $1,124.99. At today’s rate of 4.125%, the principal and interest would be $484.65. That is a difference of $640.34. Wow, that is amazing.
If this does convince you that now, what will?
