The town of Fishers continues to expand into not only a place to live, but also a place to enjoy a fun dinner or night on the town. One of the most anticipated openings in recent memory is Four Day Ray Brewing which opened last week. The brewery and restaurant built a large, freestanding two story building close to the corner of 116th and Lantern Road that features a production brewery, gastropub style restaurant and bar. We love supporting new, local businesses and decided that we would visit Four Day Ray for dinner last week.

The menu features a wide selection of craft cocktails, wine and 8 beers brewed in house. There are plans to increase this offering to up to 24 different draft beer options. We tried the Track Jumper IPA and Identity Crisis, a hybrid brown-blonde ale. Both were excellent choices.

Next, it was on to ordering food. We decided to start with an appetizer of the “Smoked then Fried Wings” in Chipotle Barbecue flavor. The wings were fall off the bone tender, had a great smokey flavor and came with colored carrots and a house made blue cheese dipping sauce.

For the main course, we decided to sample four different dishes. We went with the “Manly Wedge” salad, Tenderloin Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Flatbread and the Tacos of the Day (Fried Shrimp). The “Manly Wedge” salad was very unique in that includes pulled pork and barbecue sauce in addition to the typical blue cheese, bacon and tomato ingredients. Living in Indiana, we’ve seen some big tenderloins, but wow was FDR’s a huge sandwich. Definitely enough for two people to eat. The tacos and flatbread were also good choices.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Four Day Ray and plan to return. The decor is warm and inviting, the beer is cold and flavorful, the food is delicious and the location in downtown Fishers is convenient. What more could you ask for in a new restaurant?
