Get to Know the Team: Josh Carpenter

What is your favorite part about working in real estate?

I like to say that real estate is in my blood. My grandma has been a broker/owner in Southern Indiana my whole life and I’ve watched my mom (our team leader, Kim) grow from an unlicensed assistant to a very successful single agent to now running our team. My favorite part about the business is establishing relationships with clients who become friends and also showing off our great city to people who are relocating to the area. I love this town!

What is your favorite thing about living Indianapolis?

This is a tough question for me as there as so many things I love about our city. First of all, I think Indy is one of the most welcoming places I’ve ever been. Rarely do you meet someone who isn’t friendly. Secondly, I feel like it is the perfect balance of a large city with plenty to do, yet still small enough that you can get anywhere you want to be in a relatively short time. 

What is your favorite area of town? 

My favorite area in town is probably Mass Ave. It has been crazy to watch the area change over the past few years and it is only going to get better over the next few years with projects like the Bottleworks development. Some of my favorite spots around there are a slice of pizza at Goodfellas, cocktails and live music at Union 50 and half price sushi on Sundays at Forty Five Degrees.

When you aren’t working, what are you doing? 

When I’m not with clients, I love to be out exploring the town. If there is something new in town, I’ve likely heard about it and have it on my list of places to visit. Whether it be a new brunch spot (shoutout to LouVino in Fishers!), a new restaurant in town (my newest discovery is Sahm’s Ale House on the Monon) or a new store in town, I usually have to check it out right away.
