After merger, IRL is crammed with competitors

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — The Indy Racing League might have a new problem on its hands: too many competitors.

The first look at unified open-wheel racing came today in a news conference at Homestead-Miami Speedway featuring IRL founder Tony George and Champ Car World Series co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven.
