2015 Plant and Garden Trends

Every year, leaders of the Floriculture and Horticulture industries gather together to present new types of plants and vegetables. Below are some of the newest plant and garden trends for 2015.


“L.A. Dreamin’ Hydrangea”

LA dreamin HydrangeaWhereas hydrangea generally comes in white, pink, and different shades of purple, this new variety of hydrangea includes both pink and blue in the same plant.


Mini varieties for container gardens

If you don’t have a lot of space for a garden or if you live in an apartment, you may be interested in growing a container garden. If so, check out these mini eggplants and “Indigo Ruby” tomatoes.


“Snapshot Sunset” Snapdragons

These beautiful snapdragons come in a shade of yellow that turns to red, pink and orange on the same plant, resembling a beautiful sunset.


Sedums and succulents

Succulents are on trend this year both inside and outside the home. They are easy to care for and can be used in many different ways in the garden from along the border of the garden to container garden.



These tiny edible plants take about two weeks to sprout and are packed full of nutrition. They grow in designated containers or even in full sections of your garden. Read more about microgreens here.
